Now more than ever, our home has become our sanctuary, a place where we can feel safe and protected no matter what kind of storm is raging outside. But it also has become our new social hub and the center of daily activity.

From online chats with friends and family, to telecommuting for work, to the creation of at-home gyms to keep us active, we are all learning how our homes can now support every aspect of our lives. ashi-logoThe American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is the oldest and leading professional association for independent home inspectors. Since its formation in 1976, ASHI’s Standards of Practice have served as the home inspector’s performance guideline, universally recognized and accepted by professional and government authorities alike.

In addition, ASHI’s professional Code of Ethics prohibits members from engaging in conflict of interest activities which might compromise their objectivity. This is the consumer’s assurance that the inspector will not, for example, use the inspection to solicit or refer repair work.

ASHI is a national non-profit organization that sets its standards well above Illinois state standards.

Within the ASHI organization, individuals must perform a specified number of inspections in order to attain different qualification levels. Also, while the state only requires 6 credits of continuing education annually, ASHI requires 20. The professionals at INSPECT, INC. are encouraged to go even further beyond this goal.

INSPECT, INC. is proud to have professional home inspectors that are Certified Members of ASHI.
